Logging in
We've updated how you log in to TextFree Web. Instead of signing in with Apple, Google, or email directly on the website, you’ll now use a QR code and your mobile app to verify your login.
How to log in with a QR code:
- On your computer, go to https://messages.textfree.us/login. You’ll see a unique QR code on the login screen.
- Unlock your mobile device & ensure you’re currently logged into the TextFree app.
- Open your camera app.
- Point your camera at the QR code, tap the link when it pops up.
- Select “OK” on your in-app pop-up, and your webpage should refresh & log you in.
FYI's
If you’re already logged into the app:
- The app opens and verifies the QR code.
- You’ll see a “Login successful” message.
- Your web session on your computer will log in automatically.
If you’re not logged into the app:
- You’ll be prompted to log in as usual in the app.
- After you log in, the app will verify the QR code and log you into the web session.
If you don’t have the app installed:
- You’ll be taken to the appropriate app store to download the app.
- You can proceed with the login steps above after installing the app.
If the QR code has expired:
- For security, each QR code only works for a short time.
-
If the QR code expires on the web page:
- You’ll see a message asking you to refresh.
- Click “Refresh” to generate a new QR code and try again.
Troubleshooting
If you do not see a QR code on Web:
- Please refresh your browser. If that doesn't work, you can also clear your browser's cache and cookies.
Logging out

- Click "Log Out"
Please Note:
- Once you've logged out of your account, you will no longer receive notifications for calls or messages.
- If you need to log out of multiple devices (if you changed your password or feel that your account has been compromised), please contact support for assistance.
