(Android users) Troubleshooting Google Play Error Message "Your device isn't compatible"

Issue Symptom

You've received this message in the Google Play Store while attempting to download or update the app:

"Your device isn't compatible with this version."

Condition

• You are using an Android device
• You are attempting to install or update the app from the Google Play Store

Cause & Resolution 

This error can occur if your Android OS is not up to date and the version you're using is not supported.

• Check that your device meets the Minimum Phone OS and Version Requirements for TextFree.
• If you are using an older OS, try updating your phone to the latest version.

If the error continues after confirming that your device and OS are supported and up to date, please move on to checking your Google Play Certification status. If this is not certified, then you may experience errors when trying to install the app.

To check your Google Play Store Certification:

1. Open the Google Play Store
2. Tap your profile icon
3. Go to Settings
4. Tap About
5. Check Play Protect Certification — it should show as Certified
