Can I change my TextFree number?

Note: If your TextFree number has been removed from your account, contact us for further assistance.

We know there may be instances when you need to change your TextFree number (such as you selected the wrong number or the number you chose isn't working well for you). Because of this, you may be able to change your number. 

Please note: Number changes are limited and based on subscription status, recent activity and account history.

See below for instructions for Android and iPhone. 

Note: Please use the mobile app to change your phone number. For specific number requests or to retrieve a number you had previously, please contact support for help.

--Tab 1 Start--

To change your phone number using TextFree mobile (while logged in):

1. TextFree Settings.
2. Tap Account info.
3. Tap on your TextFree Number.
4. Tap Change TextFree Number.
5. Once you tap Continue, you will be able to enter your preferred area code and choose a new number.

Important items to note:

• You will have 30 seconds to choose a new number before the session times out.
• If you cancel without choosing a number or the session times out, your number will not change.

To change your phone number using TextFree mobile (while logged in):

1. TextFree Settings.
2. Tap Account info.
3. Tap on your TextFree Number.
4. Tap Change TextFree Number.
5. Once you tap Continue, you will be able to enter your preferred area code and choose a new number
   • Note: To find a local number in your area, please make sure to have your location permission enabled.

• You will have 30 seconds to choose a new number before the session times out.
• If you cancel without choosing a number or the session times out, your number will not change.
