Can I change my TextFree number?

Note: If your TextFree number has been removed from your account, contact us for further assistance.

We know there may be instances when you need to change your TextFree number, and that is why we allow up to one number change on your TextFree account. If you want to change your number more than once, please subscribe to TextFree Plus. 

Choose the tab below that pertains to your device for further instructions. 

Note: You cannot change your number via TextFree Web. Please use the mobile app or contact support for assistance.

--Tab 1 Start--

To change your phone number using TextFree mobile:

1. TextFree Settings.
2. Tap Account info.
3. Tap on your TextFree Number.
4. Tap Change TextFree Number.
5. Once you tap Continue, you will be able to enter your preferred area code and choose a new number.

Important items to note:

• Without TextFree Plus you only have the option to change your number once, so it's important that you make sure to pick a number you really like.
• With TextFree Plus, you can change your number once per 24 hours.
• You will have 30 seconds to choose a new number before the session times out.
• If you cancel without choosing a number or the session times out, your number will not change.

To change your phone number using TextFree mobile:

1. TextFree Settings.
2. Tap Account info.
3. Tap on your TextFree Number.
4. Tap Change TextFree Number.
5. Once you tap Continue, you will be able to enter your preferred area code and choose a new number
   • Note: To find a local number in your area, please make sure to have your location permission enabled.

Important items to note:

• Since you only have the option to change your number once, it's important that you make sure to pick a number you really like.
• You will have 30 seconds to choose a new number before the session times out.
• If you cancel without choosing a number or the session times out, your number will not change.
