Issue Symptoms
Inbound or outbound calls with the TextFree app are not going through, or are disconnecting after a few seconds.
Conditions
Your application is up to date (currently using the newest app store version) and your account is active.
Cause & Resolution
We have a few troubleshooting steps that may help to resolve your calling issue.
Log Out and back in to your Account
- TextFree Settings (tap the gear icon in the top right).
- Tap Account Settings.
- Tap Log out.
- Close the App.
- Re-open the app and Log In.
Reinstall the Application
- Delete the application.
- Restart your device (Most important step).
- Reinstall from your app store.
Enable Contact Permissions
- Go to your app Settings.
- Under General choose Support (iOS) or Get Help (Android).
- Tap Manage Permissions.
- Tap the slide to enable permission.
Clear Cache (Android Only)
- Open your General device Settings.
- Navigate down to Apps (it may be renamed 'Applications or 'Application Manager' or Apps & Notifications).
- Locate the TextFree app > click to open.
- Tap Storage.
- Tap Clear Cache.
