Note: Single Sign-On accounts cannot update their email address in TextFree as we do not store your email or password for these account types. Please contact your provider to make changes to your Google or Apple account.
Accounts that were created using an email address and password can change their email address via Settings (you must be logged into your account to access Settings). You can change your email via the TextFree app.
Via the TextFree app
- Log into TextFree mobile. (If currently logged out.)
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Account Info.
- Tap your email.
- Delete your old email.
- Input your new email address.
- Tap the "Update" button. (If your email was unverified, you'll see a "Verify" button instead.)
- View your email inbox and open the message from Index. It will contain a verification code.
- Return back to the app and enter the verification code, then tap Continue.
- A purple checkmark next to your email indicates that your new email is now verified. You'll also receive a "Email Updated" pop-up.
Verify your email address
- Below your new email address, click
(this will send a verification email to your new email address).
- Locate and follow the instructions in the email to verify the new email on your account.
Note: If you are using a Yahoo email address, please be aware that the verification email may be delayed. Please check your inbox periodically, as the link may take some time to arrive.
Please Note: Changing your email address does not change your username.
