If you need to proactively change your password while logged into your TextFree account, you can do so from either TextFree mobile or TextFree Web.
TextFree Password Requirements
New passwords must contain ALL of the following:
- Minimum of 12 characters.
- At least 1 upper case letter.
- At least 1 lower case letter.
- At least 1 special character. (such as !?*&%@)
- At least 1 number.
Note: Passwords cannot contain spaces. You'll see an "Invalid Password" error message if they do.

Changing your password via TextFree mobile
While logged into your account:
- TextFree app Settings.
- Tap Account Info.
- Type in your current password in the 'Old password' field.
- Type in your New Password.
- Be sure that your password meets the requirements above.
- When all password requirements have been met, tap the Save button to update your password.
Note: If you are unable to save your new password, please confirm there's a checkmark next to EACH of the password requirements. If you see one or more of the requirements in red, this indicates that you have not met those requirements and cannot save until you do so.

Changing your password via TextFree mobile
While logged into your account:
- TextFree app Settings.
- Tap Account Info.
- Tap Change Password.
- Enter your current password.
- If you forgot your password, tap Forgot Password at the bottom of the screen.
- Then enter your new password (twice).
- Be sure that your password meets the requirements above.
- Tap Update to save your new password.
Note: If you are unable to save your new password, please confirm there's a checkmark next to EACH of the password requirements. If you see one or more of the requirements in red, this indicates that you have not met those requirements and cannot save until you do so.

Password Requirements
- Passwords must be 6-25 characters in length & cannot contain spaces.
- If your password does not meet TextFree's requirements, you will receive the error message "Password not secure. Try again." and will need to try using a stronger password.
Changing your password via TextFree Web:
While logged into your TextFree Web account:
- Click the drop-down menu located under your TextFree Number.
- From the menu, select Account Settings.
- Under the Security section, enter your current password.
- Enter the new password you'd like to use.

Confirm your new password by entering it again.
- Be sure that your password meets the requirements above.
- When complete, click the Update button at the top to save your new password.
Did you forget your password to TextFree Web?
- Tap Trouble logging in?
- A pop-up will display > enter the email address that is associated with your account.
- Click Send.
- A reset link will be sent to the registered email address (if verified).
- Open the reset password email.
- Ensure your NEW password meets the requirements seen above.
- Select Update to save your new password.
FYI: If the reset password email is sent to your spam/junk folder, the reset button/link may not be clickable. To remedy this, please mark the email as "not spam" and/or move the email to your inbox. From there, you can click the button to reset your password.
