How to manage and report ads in TextFree

Are you having trouble with ads in TextFree? If you no longer wish to see ads or would like to report a broken or inappropriate ad, please read the information below.

Removing ads

To keep our basic service free for our users, we have ads placed in various spots in TextFree. 

Important: If you pay for a subscription (TextFree Plus) that removes ads but you're still seeing ads in TextFree, please contact support and we will work to get this corrected asap.

If you don't have a TextFree Plus subscription, but wish to close out of the ads (temporarily), please see the information and steps below.

 Options for handling ads in TextFree: 

1. Open: Tapping on the ad will redirect you to the product or service being advertised.
2. Close button: This will appear at the top left or right of fullscreen ads (after a few moments) and you can click 'X' to close the ad.
3. 'X' button: This will show within some ads. Tapping the 'X' allows you to stop seeing a specific ad, by updating your Google Ads preferences.

Report a broken or inappropriate ad

If you'd like to report a broken or inappropriate ad within TextFree, please complete the following steps:

Perform the following actions on the ad: 

1. 1 swipe right, 1 swipe left, then 2 swipes right.
2. A pop-up will display. When it does, type in the details of the ad (broken, inappropriate, etc.)
3. Tap Send.

Once we receive these details, our team will look into this right away. If you have further questions, please submit a request.
