Are you unable to access your account or TextFree number? If so, this article will go through some troubleshooting steps to help you log back in.
Issue Symptoms
- I can't access my account
- I get the error "This email address is not associated with a TextFree account"
- I'm being asked to select a new number after logging in
- I can't see my previous messages in my inbox
- After logging in, I see a different number than the one I want to access
Conditions
- Trying to log back into an existing TextFree account.
Cause & Resolution
If you're having trouble logging into your account, you may be trying to log in using a different method than when you created your account. This could mean that you've created multiple accounts in the past or you are accidentally creating a new account now, instead of logging in.
Resolution
Step 1: Log out of TextFree (to get back to the login page)
- TextFree app: TextFree Settings > Account Details > Log Out
- TextFree Web: Click the in the top right corner > Log Out
Step 2: Use a different login method
On the login page, you will see three options:
- Continue with Apple*
- Continue with Google*
- Continue with Email
Choose the same option that you did when creating your TextFree account.
*Note about Apple and Google login:
- When you select "Continue with Google", you'll be directed to Google's login page. Please enter your Google email address and the same password you would use to log in to your email account.
- When you select "Continue with Apple", you'll see an Apple ID popup at the bottom of your screen. You can enter your Apple email address and password, or continue if you are already signed in.
After logging in, please check that you can now see your messages and the correct TextFree number. If you need any further assistance, please contact Support.
